6 Speed Gearbox
For a true Alfa Romeo driving experience, a manual gearbox is a must. The pleasure of shifting through a slick gearbox combines with all the other aspects of driving an Alfa Romeo to produce a truly thrilling sensation.
To enhance the flexibility and drivability of our cars, we have added a 6th gear to several versions, including all Alfa 159 and Brera. This allows the gear ratios to be closer together, thus improving performance whilst ensuring precise control of engine speed and maximising the benefit of engine torque.
The 6-speed gearboxes are also fitted with double flywheel damping devices which contribute considerably to reducing transmission noise and increasing the ease of gear changing.
